Moycullen Mystics score comfortable win over Corrib!

Moycullen U12 girls team played Corrib in Killannin hall on Sunday 5th Feb. The full squad were present and were fired up for the match after some intensive training sessions over the previous weeks with Coach Ciaran Murphy and fitness sessions with Trainer/ Manager Fionnuala Cooke. The training paid off and from the outset Mystics took the lead with strong team skills, passing while moving from end to end, good lay-ups and rebounds. By half time the score was 18 to Moycullen and 6 points to Corrib. In the third quarter Moycullen continued with good team offensive play while staying strong in defence also blocking Corrib at every opportunity bringing the score to 24 to 8 points. In the final quarter Mystics kept their consistency despite some comeback scores from Corrib with Moycullen scoring an impressive win of 30 to Corrib’s 16. Over the season Ciaran Murphy’s systematic coaching has seen progressive improvement in skills across the whole team and combined with Fionnuala Cooke’s Monday training sessions in Dangan has led to the current win and increasing team confidence.
